[ laughter ] >> jimmy: oh, yeah. that's true. yeah, your husband probably doesn't want to make anymore. like, please stop making shirts. >> but anyway, thanksgiving -- you know, thanksgiving is coming up. >> jimmy: yeah. >> which is -- >> jimmy: you celebrate thanksgiving? >> oh, yes. cool. absolutely, i'm married to an american. but i didn't really like thanksgiving when i first came here because to me it kind of interfered with christmas. it was like christmas, but without presents. you know, i couldn't see the point really. [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: yeah -- 'cause yeah, in england you have a big -- >> and also you ate turkey. and for us in england, you knew you have to wait till christmas to eat the turkey. >> jimmy: turkey, of course. and boy oh boy, do you guys go all out for christmas. with the puddings and the -- >> yeah, yeah. >> jimmy: and pudding's not pudding in england. >> no. >> jimmy: pudding is cake. >> well -- no. >> jimmy: pudding is pie? >> christmas pudding is pudding. [ laughter ] >> christmas pudding with brandy butter, very good. all flaming. >> jimmy: gosh, so rich and delicious and yummy and awesome. >> yeah. >> jimmy: oh, my gosh. now, what do you make for thanksgiving? >> well, i -- you know, i'm in charge of the gravy, but my husband makes this thing called dressing, which i've never met dressing before i came to america. >> jimmy: no? >> we have stuffing which is very -- >> jimmy: oh, 'cause i call it stuffing as well. >> yes, well he calls it dressing. it sits outside the turkey, and it takes three days to make this. it's his mother's, mother's recipe. >> jimmy: whoa. >> and it's a, you know, tradition in our family, and it takes basically three days to make this dressing. one day of which is me going out shopping looking for buttermilk. that usually takes a whole day. >> jimmy: that does take a whole day. not many people carry -- >> because they always run out of buttermilk. always. >> jimmy: yeah, it's just -- >> it's like, where's the butter -- oh, it's empty. >> jimmy: wait, so you do buttermilk and what kind of -- >> he makes cornbread. he makes cornbread first. >> jimmy: oh, so it really does

[ laughter ] we're still eating it. >> jimmy: a whole year round, yeah, yeah. i was doing some research -- >> it's very delicious. >> jimmy: i was doing some research on you. you had a job growing up. you were a blagger. >> yes, i was, while i was in school. >> jimmy: and what is a -- what is a blagger? >> well, a blagger is someone -- well, blagging. you don't have blagging in america? >> jimmy: we don't -- we have blogging. [ laughter ] very different from blogging. blagging is, sort of, getting people's attention, you know. yeah, he's a great blagger. he's sort of just -- he's -- you're a good blagger, actually. you're a natural blagger. >> jimmy: thank you. >> you know, you -- >> jimmy: i think. i still don't know what it is, yeah. "sorry, what did you say?" until they're right here. "did you -- anyway, we've got a great store here. we've got great prizes." "hitchcock." >> my career as an actress has gone downhill ever since. >> jimmy: no, it has not. please, please, please. gosh, we love you. i'm really excited about "hitchcock." this is you and anthony hopkins. and i'm shocked to hear, you guys have not worked together before. >> no, it's very weird. we've had, sort of, parallel lives and careers. we're almost like a sort of -- i don't know. we're like the pair of twins that we're born together but separated at birth and, sort of, didn't meet again until years later. >> jimmy: and you got on really well. >> but -- get on great. absolutely. he's a brilliant, brilliant actor. and i was very intimidated, you know, first meeting him. >> jimmy: helen mirren intimidated by an actor? >> well, it was the great anthony hopkins, of course. >> jimmy: true, but you're the great helen mirren. he's probably intimidated as well.. >> yeah, but i never played hannibal lecter. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: that's great. i didn't think about that. yeah, you're right. you're right. you're right. he's so good. >> i used to -- he's excellent in everything he does. >> jimmy: this is the basic story behind this is that hitchcock's directing "psycho." >> yes. >> jimmy: and basically you're -- you're very close partners as well as being, you know, husband/wife. >> well alma -- alma reville was hitchcock's fe.
